Alexandra Feeney

Alexandra Feeney (born July 3, 1989 in Penrith , Sydney ) is an Australian archer . She is a member of the Burilda Archery Club in Sydney. Feeney took part in the 2007 World Cup in Leipzig and was part of the Australian squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .

Career

Alexandra Feeney first came into contact with archery when she was ten years old while on vacation in Fiji . Interest in competitive sports emerged as a result of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney . In 2006 Feeney won silver at the European Grand Prix in Sassari . This made her the first Australian woman to win a medal in an international competition with the recurve bow . At the 2007 World Cup in Leipzig she finished 21st with the team and 46th in the individual competition. Alexandra Feeney was a member of the Australian squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing .

In addition to her own athletic career, Alexandra Feeney trains juniors in her club in Sydney.
