Alexandra Alikina lives in Nitwa and works as a physical education teacher. She started biathlon in 2008 and is trained by Leonid Gurew. The Russian competed in her first international race in 2011 as part of the Junior World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . In the Czech Republic she missed the medal ranks in the individual as 21st, but won the silver medals in sprint and pursuit races behind Dorothea Wierer and in front of Ingela Andersson in the sprint race and Laura Dahlmeier in the pursuer. With Svetlana Perminowa and Olga Galitsch , she also won the relay race, which she started as a starting runner. It was followed a little later in the junior races of the European Championships in Ridnaun . Here Alikina again missed the medal ranks as 28th in the individual. In the sprint she was able to win the title of Dorothea Wierer and her teammate Olga Galich, in the pursuit race she missed another medal as fourth behind Wierer, Galich and Svetlana Perminova by one place. With six shooting errors, even as a good runner, she couldn't stand up to the better shooters. For the mixed relay race, Alikina was not called up.
Alikina made her debut among women in the performance area at the 2012 European Championships in Osrblie . In Slovakia she was 14th in the sprint and 12th in the pursuit race. In the relay competition she won the silver medal with Anastassija Sagoruiko , Yevgenija Seledzowa and Jekaterina Schumilowa behind the powerful relay from Ukraine and in front of the German representation.
