Ingela Andersson (born July 16, 1991 in Sollefteå ) is a Swedish biathlete .

Career

Ingela Andersson starts for K 4 IF from Arvidsjaur . She has been taking part in international biathlon competitions since 2008. She ran her first race as part of the Junior World Championships of the year in Ruhpolding , where she was 25th of the individual, 31st of the sprint and 48th of the pursuit race. A year later in Canmore she finished 18 in singles, nine in the relay, 22nd in the sprint and the pursuit did not end the Swede. At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2009 in Wisła , Andersson won the mass start. At the start of the 2009/10 season she took part in her first race in the IBU Cup and started in Idre in the IBU Cup. She finished her first race 58th in a sprint. The highlight of the season was again the 2010 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Torsby . Andersson improved again and after a tenth place in the individual sprint and the pursuit, he won the silver medals behind Jelena Badanina and in front of Monika Hojnisz . With the Swedish season she was also seventh. This was followed by participation in the 2010 European biathlon championships in Otepää . In individual, sprint and pursuit, she started with the juniors and finished sixth, 13th and 18th. She competed in the relay race together with the experienced biathletes Jenny Jonsson , Emelie Larsson and Elin Mattsson , the Swedish team reached sixth place. For the 2010/11 season , Andersson is part of the Swedish national team for the first time. in Beitostølen she won points in the IBU Cup for the first time as 17th of the sprint. At the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě she won the bronze medal in the sprint, was 13th in the pursuit, 16th in the individual and 14th in the relay race. At the start of the 2011/12 season , Andersson competed in her first World Cup race in Östersund and finished 82nd in a sprint. At the beginning of 2012, she improved her best performance in another sprint in Oberhof to 58th place. At the 2012 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Kontiolahti , she crossed the finish line in 27th place after ranking 12th in the individual pursuit. In the sprint, Andersson reached 13th place. In the new 2012/13 World Cup season she started weakly with a 99th place in Östersund. In the following races of the season, she remained without World Cup points. At the Biathlon World Championships in 2013 in Nové Město na Moravě, rank 50 in the pursuit was her best result.

In the 2015/16 season , Andersson managed to reach the points for the first time as 28th in Ruhpolding . She also secured points in the Presque Isle sprint. In the end, she finished 59th in the overall World Cup. In addition, she secured her first national championship title in the winter of 2015/16.
