Elin Mattsson (born September 21, 1986 in Torsby ) is a Swedish biathlete .

Elin Mattsson attended high school in Torsby and starts for Bore Biathlon . The receptionist started biathlon in 1997. In 2005 she took part in her first Junior World Championship in Kontiolahti and finished 60th in the individual, 23rd in the sprint, 20th in the pursuit and with Helena Jonsson and Johanna Holma in the relay race as the final runner of the Swedish relay fifth. In Presque Isle , the second participation in a Junior World Championship followed the following year. In the individual Mattsson was 15th, 23rd in the sprint and 20th in the pursuit race. With Emelie Larsson and Holma, she was again nominated as the final runner of the season, sixth in the season competition. In Langdorf she started a little later at the European Junior Championship. There she finished 20 in individual and sprint and 23 in the pursuit. The third major event was the 2006 Military World Championship in Andermatt, where the Swede was 21st in the sprint.

Mattsson has been competing in the European Biathlon Cup since the 2007/08 season and thus in the performance area. She competed in her first races at sprints in Geilo , where she first came 42nd and then won first points in 19th place. The first major event was the 2008 European Biathlon Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , in which the Swede reached 49th place in the individual, 34th in the sprint, 25th in the pursuit race and with Sanna Eklund , Emelie Larsson and Kim Adolfsson the relay competition as Eighth place finished. The military ski world championship in Hochfilzen in 2008 brought the places 37 in the individual, with Adolfsson and Elisabeth Högberg place eight in the team and both and Susanne Nystroem in the patrol run seventh. It took two years before Mattsson started again in a major event at the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää . In the individual, she finished 20th, was eleventh in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit race. With the Swedish season around Jonsson, Andersson and Larsson, she finished sixth. Even before the European Championship, the Swede was able to make her debut in the Biathlon World Cup at the races in Antholz and finished 78th in both individual and sprint. At the start of the 2011/2012 World Cup in Östersund, Elin Matsson finished 35th in the individual race and thus won points in the Biathlon World Cup for the first time.

Nationally, Mattsson won the silver medals in the relay competitions at the Swedish Championships in 2009 and 2010 with Emelie Larsson and Chardine Sloof .
