Chardine Sloof (born July 19, 1992 in Waddinxveen , South Holland Province , Netherlands ) is a former biathlete who competed for the Netherlands until 2015 and since then for Sweden .
Career
Sloof started biathlon at the age of eleven. In 2006 she was accepted into the Dutch national team. On November 24, 2007 Sloof made her debut in the IBU Cup at a sprint in Geilo . In her first race, she finished 25th straight away in the points. In the second competition, also a sprint, Sloof was already 20th. Shortly afterwards, she started in Torsby, also in the IBU Cup and finished 27th in the sprint and 25th in the individual. Towards the end of the season Sloof went to the European Championship in Nové Město na Moravě and the Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding . Her best result was a 13th place at the European Championships. In the 2008/09 season she went to the IBU Cup at the start, but was only able to get 39 points in the pursuit in Martell . Sloof started at the Junior World Championships 2009 in Canmore and achieved the following placements: Individual 16th, Sprint 32nd and Pursuit 31. At the Swedish Championships , she won the silver medal in the relay with Emelie Larsson and Elin Mattsson . In 2009/10 Sloof missed the leap into the points in the first three IBU Cups in all competitions. At the European Championships in Otepää and at the Junior World Championships in Torsby, apart from an eighth place in the sprint at the Junior World Championships, she didn't achieve any success. At the Swedish Championships Sloof won the silver medal with the relay in the same line-up as in 2009.
In the 2010/11 season started Sloof in Beitostølen with a 46th place in the sprint. In the second sprint, however, she achieved her best result to date in the IBU Cup in 13th place. On January 15, 2011 Sloof made her debut in the World Cup during a sprint in Ruhpolding and finished in 81st place. At the EM 2011 in Ridnaun she achieved the following placings: individual 20th, sprint 14th, pursuit 15th . Sloof achieved her greatest successes so far at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2011 in Nové Město na Moravě . In the individual she was only 25th, but achieved great successes as 9th in the sprint and 5th in the pursuit.
Her brothers Joël Sloof and Luciën Sloof are also biathletes.
After the 2015 season she moved from the Netherlands to Sweden , as Sweden has four starting places available for the World Cup, while the Netherlands has not got a single starting place since 2016 due to a lack of countable results.
In the 16/17 season , Sloof was able to run into the top 10 in a sprint race in Oberhof and secure a place in the top 20 in the pursuit. For the first time she was allowed to take part in a mass start race in the World Cup.
After the 2019/20 season, Sloof retired at the age of 27.
