Alexandra Soumm
Alexandra Soumm (born May 17, 1989 in Moscow ) is a French violinist .
Life
Alexandra Soumm was born to a Russian-Ukrainian family. She started playing the violin at the age of five. In order to study violin with the violin teacher Boris Kuschnir at the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna , she moved to Vienna and soon afterwards won first prize at the Eurovision Competition 2004. Solo appearances followed with the London Philharmonic , BBC London, NHK Tokyo, Danish National Orchestra, Munich Symphony Orchestra , Baltimore Symphony, Orchester de Paris . The conductors with whom Alexandra Soumm has performed include Marin Alsop , Herbert Blomstedt , Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos , Georg Mark , Seiji Ozawa and Osmo Vänskä .
Soumm is active as a soloist and chamber musician around the world and is the godmother of El Sistema France. The violin she plays by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini is on loan to the London Music Master Awards.
