Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard
Alexandre-Évariste Fragonard (born October 26, 1780 in Grasse (Var), † November 15, 1850 in Paris ) was a French painter and sculptor .
Life
Fragonard was the son of the painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard , from whom he also received his first artistic lessons. Through his father's mediation, Fragonard later became a student of Jacques-Louis David .
Fragonard initially followed the classical direction, but later switched to the romantic. His later pictures are too theatrical. But he was happy in the choice of motifs and bold and confident in execution.
