Alexandros Touferis

Aléxandros Touferís ( Greek Αλέξανδρος Τουφερής , French. Alexandre Tuffèri or Tuffère ; born June 8, 1876 in Athens , † March 14, 1958 ) was a Greek - French athlete who took part in three Olympic Games.

His participation in the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 and the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900 are generally attributed to France. In the triple jump he was second in 1896 with 12.70 m behind the American James Connolly , who was the first modern Olympic champion with 13.71 m. Touferis also took part in the long jump , but did not make it into the top four. Four years later he was sixth in the triple jump in Paris.

As a member of the Greek team, he started at the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 . In the standing long jump he was seventh, in the 110-meter hurdles he was eliminated in the preliminary round.
