Alexandru Roșu (born April 30, 1987 in Constanța ) is a Romanian weightlifter .

Career

Roşu took part in the world championships for the first time in 2006 and took 13th place in the class up to 69 kg. He had the same placement at the 2007 World Championships . In 2008 he reached sixth place at the European Championships . In the same year he took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing, but where he did not succeed in pushing a valid attempt. At the European Championships in 2009 he was sixth again, now in the class up to 77 kg. In 2010 he was tenth at the World Championships .

At the European Championships 2011 Roşu was second. However, he was disqualified for a doping violation and banned for two years. After his suspension, he finished seventh at the 2013 Universiade . At the European Championships in 2014 , he finished eighth. In 2015 he reached fourth place at the European Championships .
