Alexei Yevgenyevich Savchenko ( Russian Алексей Евгеньевич Савченко ; born June 7, 1983 in Ust-Kamenogorsk , Kazakh SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Kazakh ice hockey player who played most of his career at Kaszink-Torpedogors Ust-Kamenk .

Career

Alexei Savchenko began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk in his hometown. At the age of 15 he moved to HK Awangard Omsk and played with the second team of the club from Siberia in the third-rate Russian Pervaya League . After a detour to Motor Barnaul from the second-rate Wysschaja Liga , he returned to his home club in 2002. With Kaszink Torpedo, as the club called itself in the meantime, he also played mostly in the Wysschaja League. Sometimes he played with his team at the same time in the Kazakh league and became Kazakh champions in 2005 and 2007 . In 2010 he moved to HK Ertis Pawlodar for two years and played there as well as from 2012 to 2014 at HK Astana for the Kazakh championship, which he could not win again. In 2014 he ended his career.

International

In the junior division, Savchenko played with the Kazakh U18 team at the 2001 World Cup and with the U20 team at the 2003 World Cup in Division I.

For the men's selection of the Kazakhs , the defender only played at the World Cup Division I in 2008 , where he scored the 1-0 opening goal in the 6-3 opening win against the Netherlands .
