Alf Meakin

Alf Meakin (actually Alfred F. Meakin; born August 30, 1938 ) is a former British sprinter .

In 1962 he reached the semi-finals at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade over 100 m and won bronze with the British team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth , he won the English 4-by-110-yard relay. Over 100 yards he was eliminated in the quarterfinals and over 220 yards in the run-up.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he failed over 100 m in the first round.

In 1964 he was English indoor champion over 60 yards.
