Alfons Beckenbauer (historian)
Alfons Beckenbauer (born April 20, 1922 in Landshut ; † March 27, 1998 there ) was a German historian and teacher .
Beckenbauer did research in particular on the history of Bavaria.
In 1980 he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on the ribbon.
He wrote numerous specialist articles, his two most extensive works were the biography of Ludwig III. , the last Bavarian king, and the volume "The Ludwig Maximilians University in its Landshut Epoch 1800–1826".
