Alfons Frenzel

Alfons Frenzel ( Upper Sorbian Alfons Frencl ; born December 14, 1946 in Rosenthal , Kamenz district , Saxony ; † October 27, 2015 ibid) was a Sorbian writer.

Frenzel taught history and English for over 40 years. He became known with his works “On the horizon of the world”, “Lausitz borderless” and “Lausitz all around”, which he published in Domowina-Verlag . He was also the editor of the Sorbian book calendar “Serbska Protyka” for over 30 years.

In 1999 he received the Ćišinski Prize .
