Alfred Andriola
Alfred Andriola (born May 24, 1912 in New York City , † March 29, 1983 ) was an American comic artist .
Andriola, who studied at Cooper Union and Columbia University , originally wanted to be a writer. Instead, he became secretary and assistant in Noel Sickles' studio, helping Milton Caniff work on Terry and the Pirates . From 1938 he drew the strip Charlie Chan , a film adaptation, for four years . Charlie Chan actor Warner Oland served as a model . Andriola then drew several episodes of the superhero Captain Triumph and Dan Dunn . From 1943 onwards, the Kerry Drake detective trip , his most famous work, followed the texts of Allen Saunders . The strip ended with Andriola's death in 1983.
