Alfred Ernst

Alfred Ernst (born November 17, 1895 in Stendal , † March 23, 1953 in Hoya ) was a German officer and politician .

Life

After graduating from school, Ernst joined the army and was a participant in the non-commissioned officers' school when the war began in 1914 . During the war he was first used as a pilot in the infantry and later in the army aviators .

After the German surrender, he fought in the 3rd Russian Aviation Division in the Baltic States. In 1919 he returned to the German army and was promoted to lieutenant. Because of his involvement in the Kapp Putsch , after its suppression on April 22, 1920, he resigned from the Reichswehr . He later worked as a commercial clerk in Oschersleben .

He joined the NSDAP and the SA and was Oberführer for the SA in Halle, later SA Brigade Leader.

On March 5, 1933, Alfred Ernst was elected to the Prussian state parliament. Later he was a member of the Reichstag for constituency 11 (Merseburg) during the National Socialist era . He lived in Halle (Saale) .
