Alfred Fuchs (doctor)

Alfred Fuchs (born August 2, 1870 in Karolinenthal near Prague , † October 5, 1927 in Vienna ) was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist . His investigations into the cerebrospinal fluid , the Fuchs-Rosenthal counting chamber and the measurement of the pupil size are of particular importance .

Life

Alfred Fuchs studied at the Universities of Prague and Vienna, in 1894 he received his doctorate. med. In 1900 he became assistant to Richard von Krafft-Ebing (whose works he edited after the death of his teacher) and Julius Wagner-Jauregg in the Purkersdorf Sanatorium .

In 1905 he completed his habilitation in psychiatry and neurology and became a professor in 1912. Until his death he worked in the Oberstein sanatorium in Döbling .
