Alfred Geisel (master tailor)

Alfred Geisel (born May 29, 1900 in Reutlingen , † after 1980) was a German master tailor .

Career

After attending secondary school , Geisel completed an apprenticeship as a tailor. He then attended the specialist school for the tailoring trade in Dresden and the technical center for the textile industry in Reutlingen.

In May 1945 he was initially appointed acting chairman of the Reutlingen Chamber of Crafts and led it until 1974. In the same year he became chairman of the professional guild of men's tailors in Württemberg-Hohenzollern . From 1949 he was a member of the German Crafts Council and later a member of the Presidium of the newly founded Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH).

In addition, from 1948 he was a member of the broadcasting council of Südwestfunk .

The Reutlingen Chamber of Crafts awards the Alfred Geisel Medal in memory of its long-time president for services to the craft .

His son Alfred Geisel is the long-term vice-president of the Stuttgart state parliament.
