Paolo Zanetti (born December 16, 1982 in Valdagno ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with US Grosseto since 2011 .
Career
Paolo Zanetti started his professional career at Vicenza Calcio . He made his debut on January 21, 2001 in the home game against Brescia Calcio in the top division. After the 2000/01 season he rose with the club as third from bottom in Serie B and spent the following two years in the second highest league with the team. In the 2002/03 season he was able to fight for a regular place in the team. He scored his first professional goal on August 31, 2002, the first day of the season, in the home game against CFC Genoa . This was also the winning goal for the Lanerossi in that game . At the end of the season he missed promotion to Serie A and the first division club FC Empoli took him under contract. After a season in which Zanetti played 13 league games, relegation to the second division followed.
As the first place in the 2004/05 season , he immediately returned to Serie A. After that, he lost his regular place at Empoli and was sold to Ascoli Calcio in the summer of 2006 . There he managed to make the leap into the starting line-up, on matchday 33 of the 2006/07 season he scored his first goal in the top division. He scored in the away game at Catania Calcio to 1: 3 for Ascoli Calcio, the game ended in a 3: 3 draw. Finally, he rose again with the club in Serie B and then signed with Torino .
He received regular assignments in the league with the Turin team, but he could not secure a permanent place in the long term. After the 2008/09 season he was relegated to Serie B with Torino FC. In January 2010 they loaned it to Atalanta Bergamo . At the end of the season, the midfielder returned to Turin. In the summer of 2011 he moved to the league rivals US Grosseto .
Zanetti completed a total of 22 international matches in the Italian junior selections from 2000 to 2003 and scored two goals.
