Alfred Haas (politician)

Alfred Haas (born February 5, 1950 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After elementary school, Alfred Haas completed an apprenticeship as an electrician. He then obtained the advanced technical college certificate and studied electrical engineering at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences . He then worked for four years as a sales engineer at AEG-Telefunken and from 1978 to 2015 at TÜV Süd as an expert and later as a sales representative. From 1972 to 1974 Haas was in the Bundeswehr (airborne battalion), where he graduated with the rank of lieutenant and was promoted to Major dR in 1989. Haas works as a freelance company, association and club consultant. He is also second chairman and board member for traffic and technology in ADAC Südbaden. Haas has been chairman of the largest local ADAC club in southern Baden, the MSRT Freiamt, since 1970. Haas is married with a daughter and a stepson.

From 1975 to 1988 Haas was a member of Freiamt's municipal council . From 1979 he was a member of the district council of the district of Emmendingen . From 1988 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , in which he represented constituency 49 ( Emmendingen ). From 1994 he was a city councilor in Emmendingen.

As a consequence of his party's election results in Emmendingen in the 2011 state elections, he withdrew from all political offices in April 2011.
