Alfred Hintschig (born June 3, 1919 in Vienna , † September 4, 1989 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Hintschig studied at the Vienna University of Economics , which he awarded the degree Diplom Kaufmann ended. After the Second World War he worked as a teacher for further education and had been an authorized signatory in a paper mill since 1950. Later he was general director of Wiener Messe AG for many years ; his office was in what is now the MuseumsQuartier .

From 1964 to 1978 Alfred Hintschig was a member of the Vienna City Council . 1968/1969 he held the office of the city ​​council for general administrative matters, 1969–1973 of the city ​​council for real estate and civil law . After leaving the Vienna City Council, he was a member of the Federal Council from 1978 to 1987 .

His grave is at the Vienna Central Cemetery . In 1993 the Hintschiggasse in Vienna- Favoriten was named after him.
