Alfred Knotz

Alfred Knotz (born October 26, 1844 in Leitmeritz , † November 9, 1906 in Aussig ) was a Bohemian lawyer and member of parliament.

Life

Knotz attended grammar school in his hometown of Leitmeritz before studying law at the University of Vienna , Charles University in Prague (where he was active at Corps Austria ) and Karl Franzens University in Graz . He first worked at various district courts in Bohemia and, after completing his doctorate, became a lawyer in Bohemian-Leipa in 1878 . There he gained a great reputation through his success as a defender. He founded the German National Association in Bohemian Leipa and was elected to the city council. In 1885 he was elected to the Reichsrat by the constituency of Tetschen , to which he belonged until 1890. In Lower Austria he turned to the Christian Socials, but could not play a prominent role there. In 1890 he went to Korneuburg , before moving to the Floridsdorf district of Vienna six years later . From 1896 to 1902 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament for Floridsdorf. In 1901 he moved to Vienna, but later returned to Bohemia.
