Alfred Krüger (Manager)

Alfred Krüger (born September 28, 1920 in Emden ) was a German manager. From 1958 to 1977 he was director general of Mitropa in the GDR .

Life

After elementary school, the worker's son Alfred Krüger learned the trade of a baker . Krüger was a soldier in World War II and was taken prisoner of war .

After the war he worked temporarily as a forest and transport worker. He joined the SED in 1946 and worked as a baker again, later he became the head of a consumer goods store in Schwarzenberg / Erzgeb. From 1948 to 1950 Krüger was director of the trade organization (HO) in Aue and then head of the HO catering operations at Leipzig Central Station . From 1958 to 1977 Krüger was General Director of Mitropa. Afterwards Krüger was head of the Mitropa operations at Berlin-Schönefeld Airport .
