Alfred Lehmann (politician, 1867)

Alfred Lehmann (born April 23, 1867 in Wolfstein ; † August 22, 1919 in Freinsheim ) was a German doctor , winemaker and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a district school councilor, Lehmann studied medicine in Erlangen and Heidelberg after attending grammar school in Speyer . During his studies in 1885 he became a member of the Frankonia Heidelberg fraternity . He was promoted to Dr. med. obtained his doctorate and worked from 1892 to 1901 as a general practitioner in Frankenthal and Freinsheim. He owned a vineyard to which he devoted himself exclusively from 1901. He made a name for himself as a winemaker and was involved in the founding of the Palatinate Commission for the Control of Vine Pests and the Association of Natural Wine Auctioneers and the Viticulture Association for the Rhine Palatinate . From 1907 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the Free Association / Federation of Farmers .
