Alfred Bruno Mischke , called Alfred Mischke (born March 4, 1908 in Christburg , † after 1945) was a German economist and SS leader.

Life

Mischke, son of a caretaker, studied German , geography , history , political science and economics at the University of Berlin from 1926 after graduating from high school . The study concluded Mischke 1932 a degree in economics, and received his doctorate in 1933 at the University of Konigsberg Dr. rer. pole. with the dissertation The development of the modern cooperative system in East Prussia from its first beginnings to the present .

During his studies, Mischke worked for the National Socialist German Student Union (NSDStB). During this time he was already active in companies and agriculture. Mischke became a member of the SA in 1930 and was seriously injured by a knife in the abdomen in a clash with communists in June 1930. At the beginning of November 1933, Mischke switched from the SA to the SS (SS-No. 219.122), which he did not belong to from September 1934 until his re-entry in early August 1938 due to illness. In the SS, Mischke rose to the position of SS-Sturmbannführer in the reserve of the Waffen SS in November 1943 . At the beginning of June 1930, Mischke also joined the NSDAP ( membership number 249.875).

After completing his doctorate, he spent several stays abroad and worked as an editor at chemical companies. Under the Reichsleiter of the Foreign Policy Office of the NSDAP, Alfred Rosenberg , Mischke worked from 1935 to March 1938 as Reichsstelleleiter. In addition, Mischke was editor-in-chief and managing director of Nordland-Verlag GmbH, an SS company. From May 1938, Mischke worked as a speaker at the Forschungsgemeinschaft Deutsches Ahnenerbe eV, where he took on leading positions in the press and publishing sector. From the beginning of June 1939, after Oswald Pohl took over Nordland Verlag , Mischke was employed in the main office for administration and economics , where he was responsible for the Nordland Verlag as a department head. In this position, Mischke moved to the newly established SS Economic and Administrative Main Office (SS-WVHA) as head of Office W VII (book and picture) of Office Group W. This post was held by Mischke until the end of the Second World War .
