Alfred Reiterer (born October 25, 1934 in Graz ; † March 10, 2008 ) was an Austrian theater actor .

Life

Reiterer grew up in Graz as the older brother of Harald Reiterer and  Herbert Rhom . He initially worked between 1954 and 1960 as a trainee for tax consultants and auditors and studied law. From 1958 to 1960 he also completed an acting training at the private drama school Neuber-Gaudernak and made his debut in 1960 as Leander in Grillparzer's “Des Meeres und der Liebe Wellen” at the United Theater in Graz . From 1965 to 2000 Reiterer was a member of the theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna, where he appeared in more than 70 productions.

Reiterer became known to television audiences as his father in the Merian family series , which was filmed from 1980 to 1984 and 1993. Before that, he played in the crime series Tatort under Commissioner Marek ( Fritz Eckhardt ) and in Lilac for Jaczek (director: Fritz Umgelter ). In 1991 he directed and directed Peter Shaffer'sEquus ” at the Moulin Rouge . He was buried at the Hietzingen cemetery .
