Alfred Remmele

Alfred Remmele (born August 28, 1930 ; † February 23, 2020 ) was a German entrepreneur . The master dairy established and managed Südpack in Ochsenhausen .

Life

Alfred Remmele learned the profession of cheese maker and then completed further training to become a dairy master. As the regional sales manager for a packaging manufacturer, he went into business for himself in the 1960s. In 1964 he founded the Südpack company together with his wife, who has since passed away. In his garage, he developed a ready-made machine for the production of plastic bags . Cheese and sausage could be packed airtight in special plastic bags also developed by Remmele . In 2018 Südpack sold its products in over 80 countries worldwide, had over 1,300 employees and posted sales of over 400 million euros.

Remmele was married and a father of two. His children Johannes and Carolin continued to run Südpack together for many years and are now on the company's advisory board.
