Alfred Stögmüller
Alfred Stögmüller (* 1925 in Kirchdorf an der Krems ; † June 10, 2004 ) was a multiple award-winning Austrian theater director .
Life path
- 1943–1945 military service in the German Air Force. Deserted at the end of the war
- 1946–1948 actor at the Urfahr Volkstheater with director Leo Mally
- 1949–1953 producer at the broadcasting group Rot-Weiß-Rot and head of the drama group "Brille" at the Linz adult education center
- 1953–1956 actor at the Linz State Theater
- 1956–1964 engagements in Germany (including in Munich , Mannheim , Cologne and Bremen )
- 1964–1969 member of the three-man board of directors of the Linz State Theater
- 1969–1986 artistic director of the Linz State Theater
Alfred Stögmüller was considered the driving force behind the controversial new building of the Linz music theater .
