Eversmeer is a municipality in the district of Wittmund , East Friesland and is part of the Holtriem municipality . The community is located in the area of what used to be a much larger Central East Frisian moorland , of which only remnants are available today. The area of the municipality of Eversmeer therefore also includes the raised bog area in which the Eternal Sea , Germany's largest raised bog lake, is located. The area has been a nature reserve since 1939.

The council of the municipality of Eversmeer consists of nine councilors.
