Nenndorf is a municipality in East Friesland in the integrated municipality of Holtriem in the Wittmund district in Lower Saxony . In 2004 the community had about 650 inhabitants and covers an area of 6.86 square kilometers. The municipality is one of the smallest municipalities in Lower Saxony in terms of area and population.
Early settlement of the municipality has been proven for the Bronze Age . Today's settlement may have had its origins in the Middle Ages . Since 1972 the community has belonged to the Holtriem community.
The peat- fired brickworks in Nenndorf, which has existed since 1896 and where clinker bricks are burned on the basis of peat firing, became of supraregional importance . There has been a Dutch windmill in Nenndorf since 1849 . This windmill is decorated with the coat of arms of the municipality of Holtriem.
A wind farm with 35 turbines and an output of 52.5 megawatts has been in the municipality since 1998 .

The council of the municipality of Nenndorf consists of nine councilors and councilors. This is the specified number for the member municipality of an integrated municipality with a population between 501 and 1000 inhabitants.
