Alfred Willms

Alfred Karl Erwin Willms (born May 23, 1921 - March 5, 2007 in Brokdorf ) was a German Africanist .

Life

After receiving his doctorate in Hamburg on April 7, 1956 ( phonetic and syntactic studies of the Mentawai language ) and his habilitation there on July 8, 1970 ( grammar of the southern Beraber dialects (southern Morocco) ), he taught from 1970 to 1975 as a private lecturer for African languages ​​and cultures and from 1975 to 1986 as professor (§ 10 UniG) for African languages ​​and cultures at the University of Hamburg .
