Algirdas Matulionis

Algirdas Matulionis (born March 15, 1911 in Židikai , Mažeikiai Rajongemeinde , † May 19, 1980 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian forest politician.

Life

In 1930 Matulionis graduated from the higher forest school in Alytus . From 1930 to 1934 he worked as a district forester in Rokiškis and from 1934 to 1940 in Raguvėlė in the Panevėžys Forestry Office . From 1947 to 1953 he was sowjetlitauischer Minister of Forestry and 1957-1978 sowjetlitauischer Minister of Forestry and Forest Industries . From 1953 to 1956 he worked as Deputy Minister for Agriculture .

His son is Arvydas Virgilijus Matulionis (* 1946), sociologist.
