Algirdas Petrusevičius

Algirdas Petrusevičius (born February 23, 1937 in Klaipėda ) is a Lithuanian politician.

Life

From 1943 to 1951 Petrusevičius studied at the Vincas Kudirka elementary school in Kaunas and in 1955 he graduated from the Kauno politechnikumas . Because of his anti-Soviet activities he was arrested and deported to Siberia . He tried to escape twice and was injured and lost a hand. He lived in camps in Mordovia, as well as in Oserlag and Vladimir camps . From 1968 to 1971 he worked as a foreman and works manager in Kaunas, from 1971 to 1975 as chief engineer of the Lithuanian branch of the Soviet Institute for Butter and Cheese Industry. From 1975 to 1986 he worked in the Lithuanian Open Air Museum .

From 1996 to 2000 he was a member of the Seimas as a member of the Tėvynės sąjunga .
