Algicide

Algicides are biocides that act against algae . They are of practical importance, for example, in combating algae in swimming pools , in building facade coatings and insulation materials, in cooling towers . or in ship paints . Some herbicides with algicidal effects can be used against algae growth on paths.

Benzalkonium chloride Main active ingredient in many current algicides in the swimming pool area.
Pelargonic acid Approved against algae on sidewalks in Germany (pesticide approval)
Cybutryn Irgarol
Terbutryn As an algicide in emulsion paints and plasters
