Ali Samari (born January 7, 1993 in Tehran ) is an Iranian athlete who specializes in the shot put.

Athletic career

Ali Samari gained his first international experience at the Indoor Asian Championships 2016 in Doha , where he finished fourth with 17.82 m, as well as at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2017 in Baku with 18.54 m. He then took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar and won there with a personal best of 19.80 m. At the beginning of September he reached ninth place with 17.26 m at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat . In 2018 he won the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran again with a new personal best of 19.42 m. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he finished seventh with 18.21 m.

In 2017 Samari became Iranian indoor champion in the shot put.
