Alice Borchardt

Alice Allen O'Brien Borchardt (born October 6, 1939 in New Orleans , † July 24, 2007 in Houston ) was an American writer , known for her fantasy novels with a historical background.

Alice Borchardt was born in New Orleans. She grew up as the eldest of four daughters of Howard and Katherine Borchardt, including the writer Anne Rice .

Borchardt trained as a nurse and worked in this profession until 1998. She began working on her first novel in the early 1990s. Devoted (Eng. The Walls of Chantalon) appeared in 1995 and, like its successor, Beguiled, takes place in 10th century France. She also wrote a werewolf trilogy and two subsequent volumes on Queen Guinevere from the Arthurian legend .

Alice Borchardt was married and lived in Houston. She died of cancer on July 24, 2007 at the age of 67.
