Alice Sapritch (born July 29, 1916 in Ortaköy , Turkey , † March 24, 1990 in Paris , France ; actually Alice Sapric ) was a French actress and singer .

Life

Sapritch was of partial Armenian descent and was born in a small town near Istanbul , where she spent her childhood. At the age of thirteen she moved with her parents to Paris via Brussels . Here she completed her acting training and worked at the theater until the outbreak of World War II .

She made her screen debut at the age of 34, after which she was mainly seen in small supporting roles. The portrayal of the grieving wife at the side of Louis de Funès in Balduin, the Sunday driver and above all the role of the prudish Spanish court lady Dona Juana in The Stupid Pranks of the Rich , where she performed a humorous striptease , made Alice Sapritch known. Alice also made a name for herself as a singer and brought out various albums with chansons over the years , including Slowez moi in 1986 .

Towards the end of the 1970s, she received fewer role offers. After her portrayal of Aunt Bronte in The Brontë Sisters and a supporting role in Help, the Americans come , she rarely appeared in films.
