Alice from Gaudy

Alice von Gaudy (born March 10, 1863 in Berlin ; † July 4, 1929 in Gnadenfrei , Silesia ) was a German writer and poet .

She was born as the daughter of the Prussian lieutenant colonel Friedrich von Gaudy . Her father's brother was the poet and novelist Franz von Gaudy .

Alice von Gaudy received her school education at the daughter's school in Posen and at the Königin-Luise-Stiftung in Berlin. From 1880–1884 she made extensive trips to southern Germany, Switzerland and Italy. From 1885 she lived in Dresden , then from 1920 in Gnadenfrei. She wrote mainly short stories , ballads and poetry .
