Coat of arms of those of Gaudi

Gaudy (also Gaudi ) is the name of a Prussian noble family .

The family is to be distinguished from the tribe and coat of arms of Gaudi (Girodz de Gaudi), which emerged from a marriage alliance of the two Geneva families, de Girodz and de Gaudy and were raised to the Prussian nobility in 1827 .

history

The sex comes allegedly from Scotland and begins its regular series with the 1643 Prussian immigrant Transylvanian , then kurbrandenburgischen Major General Andreas Gaudi (1613 to 1665), on Bündtken in East Prussia, which was expected with his descent to the Prussian nobility.

Between 1650 and 1780, the family owned the estates of Bündtken , Dothen, Dwielen , Genslack , Görcken, Laukischken , Leischkidde , Leiszen , Paddeim and Pellen in Prussia .

On September 11, 1786, the Prussian Minister Leopold Otto von Gaudi (1728–1789) was promoted to the Prussian baron status. The baronial line thus established by him has expired. The use of the baron title by the entire family was not objected to in Prussia.
