church
Church building
To replace a wooden chapel built in 1607, the church building that is still preserved today was built in Laukischken between 1809 and 1812. It is a neo-Gothic building with a tower originally attached to the west side. The church was badly damaged during the war in 1914, and it was rebuilt (without the tower, only a roof top) between 1920 and 1924. The building survived the Second World War unscathed, but has been used for purposes other than that of the present day and used as a culture hall and discotheque utilized.
The old rectory, in which Anna Neander, known as Ännchen von Tharau , lived for 35 years as a pastor's wife, was demolished in 1993.
Parish
Laukischken was already a church village in the pre-Reformation period . With the arrival of the Reformation , Lutheran clergy began to work here. The parish , comprising almost 60 villages, had more than 6,000 parishioners in 1925. The parish, in which two pastors were active between 1863 and 1945, belonged to the parish of Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union until 1945 .
After 1945 church life came to a standstill due to the flight and displacement of the local population as well as the restrictive church policy of the Soviet Union . In the 1990s, a new Evangelical Lutheran congregation was established in the neighboring village of Lomonossowka ( Permauern , 1938–1946 Walls) , in whose catchment area Saranskoje is today. It is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
