Furmanowka ( Russian Фурмановка , German  Friedrichsburg ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

Furmanowka is located eleven kilometers south of the city of Polessk on the municipal road 27K-174 from Tjulenino (Viehof) via Ivanovka to Slavinsk (Goldbach) . Before 1945, Goldbach was also the nearest train station on the Tapiau – Labiau line of the Wehlau – Friedlander Kreisbahnen , which are no longer in operation.

On July 26, 1903, parts of the manor district of Adlig Bärwalde (it was the Vorwerke Bärwalde and Friedrichsburg) and the Gut Thegenwalde the manor district Friedrichsburg was formed. On September 30, 1928, the rural community Groß Bärwalde and the manor district Adlig Bärwalde (with the residential area Klein Ernstburg ) and the manor district Friedrichsburg merged to form the new rural community Friedrichsburg. As a result of the war, Friedrichsburg came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place received the Russian name Bogatowo and was assigned to the village Soviet Novoderewenski selski Sowet in Polessk Raion . Later the place got into the Tjuleninski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2016 Furmanowka belonged to the rural municipality Turgenevskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.

Before 1945 the inhabitants of Friedrichsburg were almost all of the Protestant denomination. The village was thus parish in the parish of the town church Labiau , which belonged to the parish of Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
