Sapowedniki ( Russian Заповедники , German  Lucknojen , 1938–1945 Neuenrode , Lithuanian Luknojai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

The small town of Sapowedniki twelve kilometers east of the district town Polessk (Labiau) and can be reached via the municipal road 27K-252 from Lomonossowka (Meyerhof) to Bogatowo (Szargillen / Eichenrode) . The nearest train station is Bogatowo on the Kaliningrad – Sovetsk railway line (Königsberg – Tilsit) .

history

The village once called Lucknojen was assigned to the newly established district of Pfeil in 1874 . He belonged to the district of Labiau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . On December 1, 1935, Lucknojen was reclassified from the Pfeil district to the Laukischken district (Russian: Saranskoje), which also belonged to the Labiau district. On June 3, 1938, the village was in Neuenrode renamed .

As a result of the war, Neuenrode came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Sapovedniki (as Lucknojen) and at the same time was assigned to the village Soviet Ilyichovsky selski Sowet in the Polessk district . Later the place became part of the Saranski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2016, Sapovedniki belonged to the rural municipality of Saranskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.

Before 1945 the population of Lucknojen resp. Neuenrode almost without exception of Protestant denomination. The place was parish in the parish of the church Laukischken and so belonged to the parish of Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union . Today, Sapowedniki is in the catchment area of ​​the newly established Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Lomonossowka (Permauern , 1938–1946 walls) , a branch of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
