Malaja Matrossowka is located 18 kilometers northeast of the city of Polessk (Labiau) on the northern bank of the Nemonien-Strom (ru. Nemonin) opposite Golowkino (Nemonien / Elchwerder) on the municipal road 27K-147 from Polessk to Matrossowo (Gilge) . There is no train connection.
history
Before 1945 the place was part of Nemonien , today in Russian Golowkino, which was called Elchwerder from 1938 to 1945, in the Labiau district . After the Second World War, the border between the Slavsk Raion and the Polessk Raion was drawn on the Nemonien River in the newly formed Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and the part of Nemonien / Elchwerder north of it was named as an independent place with Malaja Matrossowka. This was evidently based on the Gilge, three kilometers to the north, which was renamed Matrossowo . At the same time Malaya Matrossowka was assigned to the village soviet Saliwenski selski Sowet in Slavsk Raion. Later the place came to the Golowkinski selski Sowet in Polessk Raion. From 2008 to 2016 Malaya Matrossowka belonged to the rural municipality Golovkinskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.
