Owrashje ( Russian Овражье , German  Schlepecken , 1938–1945 Kleinpronitten ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .

Geographical location

Ovrashje is located eleven kilometers southwest of the city of Polessk (Labiau) on the Ovrashka (Brast-Graben) and can be reached by land from Schuravljowka (Groß Droosden) or Slavyanskoje (Pronitten) . Slavyanskoye is the nearest train station on the Kaliningrad – Sovetsk railway line (Königsberg – Tilsit) .

history

The small town of Schlepecken was incorporated into the newly established district of Lablacken (now in Russian: Nikitowka) in 1874 and thus belonged to the Labiau district in the Königsberg administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910, 75 residents were registered in the Schlepecken manor district.

On September 30, 1928 Schlepecken was in the rural community Proni tablets incorporated and on June 3, 1938 (with official confirmation of 16 July 1938) in "small Proni tablets" renamed .

In 1945 the village with northern East Prussia came to the Soviet Union . In 1947 it was given the Russian name Ovrashye and at the same time was assigned to the village soviet Slawjanski selski Sowet in Polessk Raion . From 2008 to 2016 Ovrashye belonged to the rural municipality of Turgenevskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.

church

Due to the predominantly Protestant population of Schlepecken and Kleinpronitten, membership of the Groß Legitten church (today in Russian: Turgenewo) was given before 1945 . This was part of the church district Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The connection still exists today after a new Evangelical Lutheran congregation was formed in Turgenewo in the 1990s and the old religious order church was repossessed. The congregation is a branch congregation of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) in the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
