Sujewka ( Russian Зуевка , German Rogainen, Labiau district , 1938 to 1945 Hornfelde , Lithuanian Rogainiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . It belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Polessk in Polessky District .
Geographical location
Sujewka is located 32 kilometers east of the district town of Polessk (Labiau) on a cul-de-sac that branches off to the west from federal road A216 (also European road 77 ). Three kilometers as the crow flies, the train station is Zalessye -Nowoje on the railway line Kaliningrad-Sovetsk (Kaliningrad-Tilsit) .

The small village called Rogainen at the time consisted of only a few small farms and farmsteads before 1945. Between 1874 and 1945, the place was in District Uszballen / Uschballen (1938-1945 "District Mühlenau", the place does not exist) integrated, the for loop Labiau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 there were 158 inhabitants registered in Rogainen, in 1933 there were 149.
On June 3, 1938 - with official confirmation dated July 16, 1938 - Rogainen was renamed "Hornfelde" for ideological reasons to eliminate foreign-sounding place names. On April 1, 1939 Hornfelde gave up its independence and merged with the municipalities of Daudertshöfen (until 1938: Lappienen, no longer existent) and Mörnersfelde (until 1938: Skieslauken, Russian: Oruscheinoje, no longer existed) to form the new municipality of Mörnersfelde.
As a result of the war, Hornfelde came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name Sujewka (as Rogainen) and was assigned at the same time to the village soviet Salessowski selski Sowet in the Bolshakovo district . Since 1965 the place belongs to the Polessk Raion . From 2008 to 2016 Sujewka belonged to the rural municipality Zalessovskoye selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Polessk.

The majority was the population of Rogainens resp. Hornfeldes Protestant denomination before 1945 . The village was parish in the parish of the church Popelken and thus belonged to the parish of Labiau in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . Today Sujewka is located in the catchment area of the Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Bolshakowo , a subsidiary congregation in the church region of the Salzburg Church in Gussew (Gumbinnen) within the Kaliningrad (Königsberg) provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
