Tawe , Russian Saliwino (Заливино), is a desert on the banks of the Curonian Lagoon in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad in the area of Slavsk Raion about seven kilometers south of Pritschaly and five kilometers north of Matrossowo at the mouth of the Towarnaja River (Tavener Escher) .
history
The settlement of the delta arms of the Memel happened from the side of the lagoon. In 1520 Tawe belonged to the parish Kuntzen on the Curonian Spit . Because of the arduous journey across the lagoon, the construction of a church in Inse was started in 1570 . As with the other Haff villages, a dike surrounded the vegetable patch on both sides of the river. In the village itself, the village road was also the dike; a solid gravel road was only built in the early 1930s. With a few exceptions, the houses were located behind the village street, while some of the stables were also on the river side. The economic basis of the villagers was fishing, growing vegetables and keeping livestock, although fishing declined more and more in the years before the Second World War. The fertile alluvial soil was ideal for growing vegetables. Cucumbers and onions in particular, but also all other vegetables, were mostly sold to Labiau or Königsberg . The timber barge served as a means of transport. The boat was partly covered with so-called "deniers" and held 50–60 quintals of vegetables.
The place Tawe belonged to the administrative district Inse. After the Second World War, the place was apparently renamed Saliwino after the Russian name Saliw for Haff and at the same time the seat of a village soviet. After the place had been incorporated into the Prochladnensky village soviet in 1965 , it was abandoned before 1976.
Salivinsky village soviet 1947–1965
The village soviet Saliwinsky (ru. Заливинский сельский Совет, Saliwinski selski Sowet) was established in July 1947. In 1965, the village soviet was dissolved again and joined to the newly formed village soviet Prochladnenski .
