Gerrod is a deserted village in the district Jossa the municipality of Sinntal in Main-Kinzig-Kreis in Hesse .

history

The village of Gerrod was part of the Altengronau court . In the Holy Roman Empire , the court first belonged to the Hanau rulership , later to the Hanau county and then to the Hanau-Münzenberg county . In 1331 the Schlüchtern monastery in Gerrod owned eleven farms and a mill . Their duties were annually two pounds Heller plus 4 1 / 2 shillings Heller at Martin's and Epiphany . In addition, the farms and the mill had to deliver natural produce to the monastery , namely 21 cheeses, two shock and 38 eggs (together: 158 eggs). On St. Stephen's Day, a chicken tax was also due for each title, so a total of twelve chickens. On every estate there was a labor of three days in the field: two days of cutting and one day of today. The taxes remained until the late 15th century. At the end of the 15th century, Gerrod fell desolate.

After the death of the last Hanau count, Johann Reinhard III. , the Landgraves of Hessen-Kassel inherited the entire County of Hanau-Munzenberg, including its shares in the Altengronau court. The area of ​​the former Gerrod later belonged to the Electorate of Hesse , after its administrative reform of 1821 to the district of Schlüchtern and after the Hessian territorial reform in the 1970s to the Main-Kinzig district .
