Alice from Hobe

Alice von Hobe (* 1940 in Flensburg ) is a German pharmacist and mountaineer . In her role as a pharmacist, she was responsible for medical and scientific tasks and was the only female participant in the Sigi Löw memorial expedition to Nanga Parbat , led by Karl Maria Herrligkoffer in 1970 together with Günther and Reinhold Messner .

Von Hobe spent her childhood with seven brothers at Gut Mühlenkoppel near Flensburg. Her father was a three-star general in the Bundeswehr and her grandfather was a colonel general in the Reichswehr . After graduating from high school and studying pharmacy , she moved to Munich, her adopted home .

In addition to the expedition to the “German Mount of Fate” Nanga Parbat, she took part in other expeditions to Rakaposhi and Mount Everest . On the expedition to the Rakaposhi, bad weather prevented the expedition from "reaching the top".

In the film Nanga Parbat (2010) about the Löw Memorial Expedition, von Hobe was portrayed by Jule Ronstedt .
