Alicja Kornasiewicz

Alicja Józefa Kornasiewicz (born March 19, 1951 in Kańczuga ) is a Polish finance manager and politician. From 1997 to 2000 she was State Secretary and first representative of the Minister in the Polish Ministry of State Property .

Professional career

Kornasiewicz graduated in 1973 from a degree in economics from the Warsaw Szkoła Główna Planowania i Statystyki (today: Szkoła Główna Handlowa ). She then did her doctorate at the Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny in Poznan . In 1978 she passed the auditor exam. She is a member of the Polish Association of Auditors (Krajowa Izba Biegłych Rewidentów), in which she was a member of the Audit Committee from 1999 to 2003. Kornasiewicz graduated from the Center for High Performance Development in London and participated in two advanced management training programs at INSEAD in Paris .

From 1973 to 1993 Kornasiewicz was employed in various Polish companies and institutions. This included activities at Moore Stephens , Impexmetal, Norblin, Interpegro, Unitra and the then Ministry of Internal Trade (Ministerstwo Handlu Wewnętrznego).

In the first free elections in Poland after the fall of the Wall , she was elected to the parliament ( Sejm ) from 1989 to 1991 as a member of the Polish Peasant Party (PSL) (constituency: Płock). In the 1990s she belonged to the Unia Demokratyczna (UD) and the Unia Wolności (UW). From 1993 to 1997 she worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Warsaw. In the government of Jerzy Buzek , Kornasiewicz held the position of State Secretary (1st Vice Minister) in the Polish Ministry of State Property from 1997 to 2000 .

Finance manager

Since 2000, the manager has been Head of “Emerging Europe” in the investment banking department of UniCredit ; in 2008 she also became CEO of UniCredit CAIB AG (a subsidiary of Bank Austria). In 2001 she was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bank BPH SA . She also held supervisory board functions at Telekomunikacja Polska SA and Bank Austria Creditanstalt .

In January 2010 she was appointed CEO of the universal bank Bank Pekao SA . She ended this position in April 2011. Kornasiewicz has been working in a management position at Morgan Stanley (Warsaw branch) since 2012 . Here she is responsible for the area of ​​the CEEC countries.

Kornasiewicz is a member of the jury for Galeria Chwały Polskiej Ekonomii .
