Allænd North is a band from the Chiemgau area. The name is a combination of the words "all" + "end" or "all" + "land" and "North". The band name is pronounced as if it were spelled "All and North". Musically, the band combines stylistic elements from the music genres Shoegaze and Trip-Hop . The band members come from Munich , Traunstein , Trostberg and Bad Ischl ( Upper Austria ).
History of origin
Originally intended as a studio project, the group Allænd North released their first EP "Impact" in July 2016 . The producer Stefan Aigner worked with his colleagues Fricko Friese and Johannes Oberauer on the arrangements and took over the recordings. The Austrians Mimu Merz ( mimu ) and Anna Schauberger ( The Unused Word , Yolo Ferrari ) were represented as guest singers and lyricists on "Impact" .
In December 2016, the band was named "Band of the Week" by the Bavarian radio station PULS , whereupon the studio project quickly had to become a live band. The previous band members Stefan Aigner, Fricko Friese and Johannes Oberauer joined Anna Schauberger as singer and Guido Kudielka on drums. Some of the band members only got to know each other personally during rehearsals for the live recording. Actually up to this point it was still only intended as a studio band, but due to the positive atmosphere during the first rehearsal, the musicians decided to actually function as a live band in the future and perform together again. In December 2016 the EP Never, Never was released , which was available for free download from Bandcamp .
The band gave concerts at the PULS Club Festival in Traunstein, at the Festival Sound of Munich NOW 2017 of the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Munich, at the KAPU Summer Festival in Linz ( Austria ), and in Schaffhausen ( Switzerland ).
