Kathrin Wehlisch

Kathrin Wehlisch (* 1974 in Berlin ) is a German actress , singer and radio play speaker .

Life

From 1996 to 2000 Kathrin Wehlisch studied at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . In 1999 she made her debut at the Schauspiel Leipzig . After completing her studies, she had various engagements, the first of which took her to the Basel Theater from 2000 to 2005 . After returning to Germany, Wehlisch played at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin from 2005 to 2008 and at the Schauspiel Köln from 2009 to 2012 . In 2012/13 she was seen at the Berliner Volksbühne . After an engagement at the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg (2013 to 2016), Wehlisch has been a member of the Berliner Ensemble since the 2017/18 season .

Wehlisch played William Shakespeare in various plays , in classical pieces such as The Oresty by Aeschylus and The Trojans by Euripides . She was the Abigail in Arthur Miller's witch hunt , Olga in The Dirty Hands by Jean-Paul Sartre and Frieda in John Gabriel Borkmann by Henrik Ibsen . Wehlisch worked with well-known directors such as Tom Kühnel , Karin Beier , Jürgen Gosch , Frank Castorf , Armin Petras and Sebastian Nübling .

After her comrade debut in 1999 in Peter Vogel's drama Einfach raus , Wehlisch has been working regularly for film and television since 2009. In addition to guest roles in various series, she played in award-winning films Über uns das All and Who if not us . She also works extensively as a radio play speaker and occasionally takes part in recitals as a trained mezzo-soprano.
